Pfeifer plans further investments in the Czech Republic

In addition to the launch of the cross laminated timber plant in Schlitz in mid-2019, Michael Pfeifer spoke with Fordaq at this year’s BAU about a number of further investments by the Pfeifer Group over the coming months.

On the one hand, a second pellet plant is being built at the Chanovice plant in the Czech Republic. This will increase the pellet production in Chanovice from the current 60,000 tons by another 40,000 tons to 100,000 tons. Oct. 2019

Also in Chanovice, the production of shuttering panels will be expanded by 1.3 million square meters by autumn 2020, doubling to 2.6 million square meters. The Pfeifer Group then produces a total of 8 million square meters of shuttering panels per year, in addition to Chanovice at the second Czech location Trhanov and at the headquarters in Imst.

Four new block presses are being purchased at the Lauterbach site in Hesse and the production of pallet blocks has been expanded by 60,000 cubic meters. There a total of 16 block presses will run. Two presses will be put into operation at the beginning of May and two more in mid-August. For Lauterbach, an annual production of 200,000 cubic meters is planned for 2019. In 2020, the value will increase a little more if the four new presses will produce at full capacity. In total, the Pfeifer Group produces 750,000 cubic meters of pallet blocks per year in Unterbernbach, Lauterbach and Uelzen.
