The State of Tyrol reports considerable price increases for roundwood at the beginning of the year. During the 7th Tyrolean softwood submission by the Tyrolean Forest Association, 498 m3 were traded. The average price for spruce was € 202 / m3 (highest bid: € 414 / m3), for larch it was € 259 / m3 (highest bid: € 454 / m3), for fir it was € 156 / m3 (highest bid: € 365 / m3) , for Swiss pine at € 348 / m3 (highest bid: € 587 / m3).
1609 bids were placed on the 498 lots. 26% of the buyers came from Austria, 42% from Germany and 32% from Tyrol. Builders bought 35% (valuable wood) sawmills 35%, carpenters 5%, dealers 15% and timber construction companies 2% of the wood volume.
The forest organization of the State of Tyrol also reports that prices for the main range in January for the non-state forest have risen sharply. Spruce wood B / C 2a-3b was 79.70 € / m3. The Tyrolean log price index rose by 20.6% up to a value of 122%. In the fourth quarter of 2019, the increase was 6.7%.
