During January-May 2020 Russia’s export of sawn timber made 7.3 mn tons, down 9.8% year-on-year. According to the Russian Federal Customs Service’s statistics (Rosstat), in terms of value, sawn timber export was down 9.1% making $1.7 bn.
Logs export decreased by 21.4% year-on-year down to 5 mn cbm worth $353.8 mn, down 26.5% year-on-year.
Plywood export increased by 6.8% year-on-year to make 1.2 mn cbm worth $477.5 mn, down 2.9% year-on-year.
Wood pulp export in January-May 2020 amounted to 895.3 thousand tons, up 2.7% year-on-year worth $382.1 mn, down 22.1% year-on-year.
Newsprint export made 492.6 thousand tons, down 5.1% year-on-year, worth $169 mn, down 34.8% year-on-year.
