Sharp decline in Russia’s exports of logs

In the first seven months of this year, the actual export volume of Russian timber products fell by 0.4% year-on-year, according to data of the Russian Federal Statistics Office (Rosstat) compiled by wood media platform Lesprom Inform.

Among them, the export volume of logs was 8.94 million m3, a decrease of 14.8% compared with the same period of last year.

The export volume of lumber was 11.7 million tons, and the total export value was 2.678 billion US dollars. The export volume and export value increased by 4.5% and 1.3% respectively.

The export volume of plywood and wood-based panels increased by 4.8% to 1.7 million m3, and the total value of exports fell by 14.5% to US$690.6 million.

The export volume of pulp is basically 1.2 billion tons, an increase of 0.1%, and the total value of exports is 665.4 million US dollars.
