The Mayr Melnhof Group, headquartered in Leoben (Austria), will take over the two locations of the Hüttemann Group in Olsberg (North Rhine-Westphalia) and Wismar (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) in Germany. The transaction is subject to antitrust approval, and is expected to close after Easter in early April. The financial details were not disclosed.
With the takeover, the Mayr-Melnhof Holz Group intends to further expand its strategic position in the laminated timber product sector.
“The laminated wood sector of the Mayr-Melnhof Group and the portfolio of the Hüttemann Group complement each other both in terms of product range and geography,” says Richard Stralz, CEO of Mayr-Melnhof Holz Holding AG.
