Södra is acquiring the remaining shares in Södra Timber A/S and Södra Wood Project from the Danish company Uniwood. After the acquisition, the former joint-owned companies will be wholly owned by Södra. The acquisition is effective immediately.
“The aim of the acquisition is to move even closer to our customers in Denmark and to continue developing our offering in sawn timber, energy products and special-purpose projects for both the Swedish and Danish markets,” said Jörgen Lindquist, President of the Södra Wood business area.
Södra Timber A/S offers a wide range of timber, energy and project-specific wood products, such as fire-retardant-treated cladding panels, for the Danish market. Södra Wood Project AB, which is based in Karlstad, offers project-specific special-purpose solutions in wood for the Swedish market.
Uniwood’s former joint owners, Frank Lund Larsen and Jan Hansen, will continue to lead and develop the company in Denmark, together with the employees in Hilleröd. Södra Wood Project AB and its employees in Karlstad will become part of Södra’s Swedish organisation.
“Demand for special-purpose and project-specific solutions in wood has been high in recent years and remains so. These operations will therefore complement our new market offering for solid wood cladding systems, and our standard offering for the building trade,” said Jörgen Lindquist.
