In March 2018, all values listed in the German producer price index for wood products are higher than in the previous year. In the short-term comparison with February 2018, this only applies to a good half of the values.
Nine of the 17 assortment values continued to rise from February to March. The largest increases include narrow products, planed lumber and raw chipboard. The remaining increases are below 1%. Five figures stagnate compared to February. These applies to hardwood lumber assortments as well as HDF boards and laminate floors. Slightly downsized compared to February is the price for timber, stock squares and solid construction timber.
As in February, all figures are more or less significantly above the levels of March 2017 compared to the previous year. The front runners remain raw chipboard, followed by narrow products, pellets and timber. Wood chips and beech logs are just above the previous year’s level.
