After a stagnation period in December and January, German producer prices for commercial wood products in February show a clear upward trend. This was unbroken anyway for the year-on-year comparison, but virtually all prices have risen compared to January.
In the previous month only beech blocks remains on the value of January. All other assortment indices are higher than in January. Lumber showed the strongest increase with + 2.42%, followed by pellets and HDF boards with 1.49% and 1.24%. All other values are below 1%.
Compared to February 2017, all indices have risen. Raw chipboards lead the rankings with an increase of 10.75%. This is followed by lumber (+ 5.70%) and pellets (+ 4.99%). The lowest increases compared to the same month of the previous year include wood chips, beech logs and laminate flooring.
